Product Description

The AEROBELT is an \'air cushion belt conveyor\'. In this system the belt is carried on a film of air. Air is blown into the plenum chamber through sections by a small fan. One fan is sufficient for over a hundred metres of belt conveyor.

Water and dustproof covers protect both your product and the environment, giving the AEROBELT a distinct advantage compared to conventional conveyors.

900mm wide Aerobelt profile used with support spans
of 12 metres.
This has a totally enclosed conveyor belt, even the
return belt strand is enclosed and all nip points are
closed.
With a 750mm wide walkway on one side, used only as
an access way and for the removal of return idlers
when required.

Enclosed 900mm wide conventional conveyor. This is the only fully enclosed comparison equal to the Aerobelt for smooth belt, bulk material handling.
In order to compare equally a conventional with an Aerobelt, the conventional conveyor would need the following as bare minimum.
1.Walkway one side for maintenance access to rollers
2. Cladding to totally enclose, which is both heavy and costly.
3. Boards on the walkways to prevent the ingress of wind on the product and to protect spillage below the installation.
4. Lighting inside the enclosed structure
5. Heavy support steelwork and civils
In this instance the Aerobelt would be economically, far more attractive, and equal.
On long centre conveyors, the Aerobelt price per metre becomes cheaper.

Comparison for short open conveyors, the Aerobelt would be uneconomical, but if enclosure is required, the difference is in only at relatively small
additional cost.

The cladding of some conventional conveyors are not a comparison to the Aerobelt.

Maintenance of idler sets and rollers is very difficult for access.
The weather is not limited from one direction only.
Any spillage of material is not contained.
Safety from open "nip points" along the conveyor route, pose real hazards for operational staff

In conclusion, the Aerobelt requires little to no maintenance and walkways and claddings are just an additional expense.
